How long is the test?

--The test usually runs 30-45 minutes, along with a 6 minute walk

How do I prepare for the PFT?

--Follow any specific instructions from your doctor regarding medications, to stop or continue use prior to test.

--Avoid heavy meals, alcohol, and caffeine for several hours before test.

Does a pulmonary function test require fasting?

--In most cases, there is no need to fast before a PFT.

How do I schedule a PFT?

--Once you have filled out the contact form we will reach out to you to get you on the schedule.

Who will perform the PFT?

--A trained health care professional.

Under what conditions should I not get a PFT?

--If you have recently had surgery (eye, chest or abdominal), a recent heart attack or stroke, or an active respiratory infection.

Is your testing facility handicap accessible?

--Yes, we are handicap accessible.

Are there any serious side effects after the PFT?

--Serious side effects are rare, but could cause an asthma attack or bronchospasm. More mild side effects could include dizziness, lightheadedness, and coughing.

When can I expect results?

--Your healthcare provider will contact you within a few days after your PFT with your results.
